This is the type of movie that I hope men and women watch and notice the clear differences between the sexes for understanding. “A Beautiful Belly” did a fantastic job exhibiting how husbands and wives handle complicated scenarios. This film is very dramatic and emotional and it’s very human. Fine performances from the cast as well.
Honest, sincere look at the difficulty two people face in their relationship and coming to grips with their impending parenthood. Terrific chemistry between the two leads. Low budget indie movie that is far more entertaining than many expensive Hollywood films.

Well done. Emotionally real. Real, too, to human nature and foibles, while not absolving characters of responsibility for choices. There is real darkness, but also light, and with it growth and healing for those willing to accept the pain needed for both.
First of all, the movie was entertaining. It was a low budget filmed but it had great actors/esses. The storyline was realistic. The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is because it went off prior to her having the baby which I felt showing the dad's first experience from dealing with birth to infancy would have rounded out the point of the storyline.

I really loved this movie. Appropriate for ages 15+ because of the themes. A guy and a girl meet at a Bible study and hang out afterwards only to find out they are pregnant soon after. They decide to marry once they realize they are also in love. "A Beautiful Belly" is a movie about what happens after they have married and the repercussions of marrying someone quickly. There are no graphic scenes, no language. The actors play this movie honestly and subtly. The script is really well done - straight forward, simple but truthful. The themes are real ... married, pregnant couples face these issues everyday. I appreciated that the characters could have made *really* bad decisions ... and they are not perfect, they are tempted but (spoiler alert!) the movie chooses the moral high ground. I also liked how the movie was filmed- it added to the integrity & honesty of the film. Well timed flash forwards, starting in the future then going back then finding its way forward again. It all played well to the viewer. You will not regret watching this movie. This is one that is so quietly lovely- you will walk away uplifted.
What do you do when your husband does not find you sexy because you are pregnant? Do you fall into temptation when a cuter, richer, sweet photographer shows interest? What of if said husband hides that he is married to hang out with single non-pregnant woman? Is that more reason to cheat? Follow the story of Allison and Danny as they navigate these questions and more.
For a Christian movie, they were pretty honest about sex, relationships and temptations. They broached these topics from a non judgemental point of view which was pretty great. Another thing, I loved about this movie is that these actors and actresses did not act as if this was their first foray into the world of acting.
Now, some Christians might have a problem with how the issue of premarital sex was brushed over but ..........well.......
That's it. For a Christian movie, it was quite good.
LOVE!! <3. Really well-developed plot and believable story-line. Interesting throughout and very sweet at the end. I was also impressed to see that this film was made on a microbudget as it looked very professional and well done. Definitely would recommend!
